Update from Tom White

Hello Friends,

Hope everything has been going well for you guys.  Things are finally looking better around here.

Diane passed away at home Jan. 10th.  I felt very fortunate to have been able to provide the 24 hour care for her  the last six weeks.  I’ll just say I had a very tough time with all this and leave it at that.

She was a pack rat in a big way.  Before I could even think about going back to work I needed to get my house in order.  So I’ve been going through everything  including 15 crates of my sons belongings to either donate, throw away,  or keep.  Diane’s stuff included memorabilia from her volunteer work all the way back to her childhood including her first Easter dress, first shoes, and the doll clothes she came home from the hospital in (She was a Preemie).  My two daughters seemed to be a lot tougher than me and have been a tremendous help in throwing stuff out.

My sons stuff was actually pretty impressive.  He kept training logs, started a showcase file for baseball recruiters, had notes where he had been studying the bible, was taking all honors courses including calculus as a Junior, and had been making notes in the A&M course work manual.  His choice of mint flavored condoms wouldn’t have been my choice, but I guess it worked for him.

I still have a long ways to go but what’s left won’t be as hard to pick through.  Still have 7 cats and at least 5 have got to go.

Had firmly decided not to be the grieving widower and mourn properly for a year or whatever.  So I set up and went on a date with a Psychiatrist in her mid-forties.  Considering this was the second woman I’ve dated in 29 years  things were going very well.  But the next day, well, let’s just say she should have been a resident patient.  Had to cut and run.

If you guys needed help with anything I would sure enjoy the change of scenery.  Still looks to be a strong market for us engineers.  A California heavy oil producer has expressed interest in having me set up ground operations in the Fayetteville Shale (gas).  Beyond this and a couple small deals I’ve seen, industry need seems strongest on the drilling side.

I still owe you guys a completed Drillers Intercept Manual.  I haven’t been able to even look at it.  I’ll finish it before I go to work full time.  And that won’t be before March.

Will be talking to you guys soon.  If you need anything, let me know.

Thanks….
